The wit and wisdom of youth

I have often made the comment that my youngest son Michael has the best sense of humor that I have ever seen. Some of the things that he says make me laugh so hard that I cry. However, he is also very smart and resourceful (See older post on coupons, peanut stickers, and telescopes). Like every spring or change in seasons and weather Michael has been sick with a runny nose and cough. Yesterday I remarked that we needed to wipe the boogers off of his nose and before I could reach the tissues he had stuck his little finger up there and struck gold, if you know what I mean.

I wiped his finger and his nose and with all seriousness Michael made the following observation:

"I have decided. Boogers are gross, but they are also delicious. I would rather eat them then wipe them."

I was laughing so hard that I cried and Michael just looked at me, his hand on his little hip and told me to stop laughing, it wasn't that funny after all.

You have to admire the wit and wisdom of youth.
